Yvonne Therese Mertens
Yvonne Mertens is the Managing Director of ATHION GmbH. With ATHION, she pursues the goal of supporting industrial companies and energy suppliers in digitalizing their energy systems. As an IT and energy expert, Yvonne Mertens is in charge of the development and conceptual design of the IT infrastructure and is responsible for the continuous further development of ATHION GmbH’s Digital Energy Services.
Prior to that, she worked for Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as a management consultant for more than five years. Here, she advised a large number of customers on technology and IT topics with a focus on the technological implementation of new concepts in the energy industry, such as smart grids or demand side management. Prior to that, she was instrumental in setting up several start-ups in the IT and energy environment.
Yvonne Mertens studied computer science and electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen University.
Christoph Kosmehl is Managing Director of ATHION GmbH. Here, he brings together IT, energy technology and energy economics knowledge to utilize the possibilities of digitalization in energy management. Christoph Kosmehl is responsible for the ongoing development of new concepts and products. With his economic expertise and many years of experience in the energy sector, he is instrumental in driving forward the successful business development of ATHION.
Previously, he was head of business development for district heating, CHP plants and decentralized energy supply for the Vattenfall Business Unit Heat in Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden as well as head of the executive board office of Vattenfall Europe Wärme AG. Christoph Kosmehl also worked for several years as a strategy and transformation consultant at Capgemini Consulting in the industrial and energy sector.
He studied business administration at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management (HHL), the University of Giessen and the KDI School of Public Policy and Management, Seoul.
